The sun is the primary threat to a shaved or bald head. BOTAK SPF30 sunscreen guarantees optimal protection with specific care for bald scalps. The scalp is effectively protected from UVA and UVB rays, with high SPF30 protection combined with:

Apply the SPF30 Sunscreen generously and evenly to the scalp before exposing yourself to the sun.
Reapply frequently every 2 hours to maintain protection, and after sweating, swimming or toweling.
Don't stay in the sun too long, even if you're using sunscreen. Overexposure to the sun is a serious health threat.

Q1. Should you protect your shaved head from the sun?
⇒ Yes, the sun is the main enemy of the shaved/bald head, and can lead to diseases such as solar keratoses or even skin cancers.
The bald head no longer has the protection of hair, and it is the most exposed part of the body, therefore prone to sunburn.
It is important to protect yourself from the sun with the most effective means: hats, and sunscreens with a minimum SPF of 30.

Q2. Can BOTAK Sunscreen, with its moisturizing active ingredients, replace BOTAK Moisturizing Cream on sunny days?
⇒ No, BOTAK Moisturizing Cream has properties that go beyond hydration and cannot be replaced by those of BOTAK Sunscreen. Furthermore, the very light texture of BOTAK Moisturizing Cream is not matched by BOTAK Sunscreen because sunscreens always tend to make creams heavier and slightly oilier.
It is therefore advisable to apply BOTAK Sunscreen over BOTAK Moisturizing Cream (after at least 3 minutes) on days when you are exposed to the sun.

⇒ Yes, you can use BOTAK SPF30 Sunscreen on your face too, which will also benefit from the benefits of its active ingredients.

Q4. Hat or sunscreen?
⇒ The sun is good for the skin, body, and mind! But in small doses and with controlled intensity. Exposing a shaved or bald head is therefore recommended, with good sun protection. However, when the sun is too intense, headwear (hat, cap, bucket hat, etc.) is welcome, provided it is clean and the materials and dyes are not too irritating to the skin!
